Here are some new photos of Aubry. We are having so much fun with Grandma Godfrey down visiting and helping out. In fact, she is motivating Chris to clean his computer area. I think he listens to his mom more than me=) Grandpa Godfrey (Paul) is flying in tomorrow night and then we are blessing Aubry on Sunday the 5th. She has the cutest blessing dress that Carol made for her. I will post some pictures of her in that on Monday next week.

One Month

So Aubry is officially one month old two days ago. We went to the doctor on Monday and she weighed in at 6 pounds and 5 ounces. That is up from two weeks ago at 5 pounds. She is eating really well and I am super excited that she is putting on weight. She is still in the lower 5 percentile for everything, but that is fine as long as she has a normal growth rate. She is already more aware and is starting to focus and just look around without fussing. Grandma Godfrey bought us a sling and I am super excited to try it out. We also finally found a stroller that is cheap and versatile for us. Unfortunately, it only comes in one color. Brown and Pink. Which is fine I guess, but it clashes with our car seat which is blue and silver. Oh well. We will be picking it up next week.

My incision site is healing pretty well. I can lay down and get up now, but it still hurts. And I can't wait til I get the go ahead to swim and exercise. I want to lose all sorts of weight and fit into my pants again. I lost a ton of weight, but the stretching was in all the wrong places and my pants are fitting right. I go in for my appointment in about a week and a half. I can't wait to go swimming!!

We are going to the family reunion in August hopefully, and I can't wait. We are thinking about just flying up to Billings and driving down with the in laws. Apparently Allegieant Air now has a non stop flight to Billings for about 60 bucks a person. Totally awesome. That means it is cheaper to fly now instead of driving. I wish they had that flight last year when we visited. Stupid people. Well, we are just relaxing here, taking our time to do stuff. I like being a stay at home mom. I might make it permanent=)

Four Weeks and Counting...

Wow. What a crazy ride so far. Aubry is four weeks old tomorrow and I can't believe it. It seems like longer. Probably cause I am running on no sleep and limited energy. So far I have gone to two baby showers with her and thankfully she has been awesome for both of them. Lara's was totally crazy, what with all of the babies and pregnant woman. My baby was the smallest out of everyone. Poor thing. She is getting pretty long, but we will see how much weight she has put on come Monday. My mom in law is coming on Sunday, thank goodness. I still need some help and am so lucky to have so much support. What with Chris staying home for the first two weeks, then my mom coming for a week. I had this week on my own, and feel terribly lucky that Chris comes home so early in the day. Chris's mom will be staying for two weeks and I am so excited. Hopefully, by the time everyone is done visiting, I will have more of a handle and a routine with Aubry. I wish she would take her pacifier easier, it would make my life easier. We need to get a stroller, because she really likes to cruise in the car and to be carried around. So I thought that a stroller would be good cause then I could get some exercise and still spare my arms.

She doesn't seem to sleep that often and when she does, I have a hard time sleeping. I want to do stuff while she is sleeping, but I desperately need to some sleep of my own. I am looking forward to a steadier routine as she gets older, and lord, bless me with patience!!

PS I gave Aubry a bath on Monday, her first one that she didn't scream the whole time!! But today she was pissed about it=)

Two Weeks and Counting

She is the smallest one in the house!!

So Aubry is two weeks and one day old today. It has been an interesting ride so far. Chris finally had to go back to work and my mom is staying with us for a week. I miss Chris but it is nice to have my mom here to help. She did my dishes which was really awesome and she helped me get out and about to pick up some groceries. We actually had a real dinner thanks to her. I haven't made dinner in a while and it was nice to have a homemade meal. My incision site still hurts which is very annoying. I thought for sure I would be feeling better by now, but they keep reminding me that in addition to having a baby, I did have major surgery. I can drive now, but I still can't pick up anything heavy. Not til next week. I tried laying down to take a nap with Chris the other day, and when I woke up, I couldn't walk. My legs and back were locked up and I couldn't twist my body because of my incision. It was the first time in two weeks that I have tried laying down to sleep. I mostly just sleep in the recliner in the living room with Aubry. I would like to sleep in the bedroom with Chris, but I am afraid that his sleep will get interrupted with the baby. We will work something out I am sure.


Well Aubry ended up being 5 pounds at her doctors appointment yesterday, which was awesome. She was 4 pounds and 10 ounces the last time and the doctor only expected her to gain about half of what she gained. She was pretty happy about it. I told her it was because Aubry refused to stop nursing for two hours. I was sore. The doctor said that she was using me for a human pacifier and that I should feed for 15 to 20 minutes on each breast and then give her a pacifier if she fusses. I was nervous about doing that because I was sure she was still hungry. But most babies only eat about 1 to 2 ounces in a feeding and so they get the majority of their meal in the first 15 minutes of eating. Well, I tried that, and it was amazing. Aubry ate for about a half hour then, I gave her a pacifier and she was totally fine!! I feel like I have an easy baby because all of the experiments that I have tried, she has responded to really well. Like we kept her up a little bit during the day so she will sleep at night, and she is doing fine.


She was a little fussy this morning, but I think she had a stomach ache. Which she relieved all over me when we were out shopping. She exploded her diaper on my pants and in my mom's car. She does it cause she loves me I guess. It was an interesting experience. She likes to sleep on her stomach and I know that is bad, according to the books. But my mom said that when she was having babies, that they said to make them sleep on their stomachs and not on their backs. They keep changing the official guidelines. Mostly, Aubry sleeps on me. I lay her on my chest to burp her, and she falls asleep, then I fall asleep in the chair. Is that bad? It is so special to me, cause she is so close and I can feel her breathing with me. I know she has to sleep in her crib eventually, but I worry so much about her. Well, she is lots of fun, she sneezes super cute and she gets the hiccups all the time.


After my mom leaves, I get her to myself for almost two weeks before I get more help. We will see how I do without my mom and Chris here all the time. I am nervous, but hopefully Aubry will continue to be a cute, nice, adorable baby.
