So I have less than 48 hours before I "give birth". Technically, I will be having surgery, but the result is the same. Soon our whole lives will be turned upside down and focused on a small person that we have never met before. Her name, in case you were wondering, is supposed to be Aubry Ann Godfrey. Krysta brought up a good point about what happens if we meet her and that name doesn't fit. I can be flexible, but I am pretty sure Aubry will fit. It had better, cause I don't have a backup name picked out. I can't even think about a different name, I draw a blank. Our house is semi clean. As clean as it is going to get. Chris is taking two weeks off to be with me and the baby, so hopefully we can get even more stuff done. After Chris goes back to work, my mom is going to stay with us for a bit, and then Chris's mom is coming down. I think it is a good flow this way. That way I won't have anyone overlapping, plus Chris can spend some quality bonding time with the baby. I am so excited that he is able to take so much time off to be with me. It will be so hard to see him go back to work. But the good news is that he gets off so stinking early that we can hang out all afternoon as a family!!
A family. That is so weird to me. I mean, we were obviously a family before the baby, but now with a baby we are a family unit, not just married. I can't imagine being responsible for another human being, not to mention their feeding machine. I am particularly nervous about breastfeeding because I want to do it exclusively really bad, that I am afraid because I want it so bad, that something will go wrong. Fortunately, I will be at the hospital for at least two days, with nice nurses and lactation specialists, that I can hopefully get the trick in before I have to leave. And if I need help, there are tons of relatives that I can call on to help me. Aunt Beth is on my speed dial for back-up, not to mention my mom and sisters.
I promised to post some pictures of the babies room so here they are. Not as coordinated as Lara's but, I have my own style. You can see the cute blankets that my mom and mom in law made for her. We have a ton of blankets. Which will be a good think when we move to Idaho. It looks like we will be staying til our lease is up at the beginning of October before we move. I think we can manage to move mid September so cross your fingers. That way we beat the worst of the summer heat down here, and move before the big winters they have up there.
Well, I will hopefully get a chance to blog and post pictures in the hospital as I will be there for awhile. We will let everyone know how it is going Thursday afternoon after she is born.
