I found her laugh. Hope you can hear and enjoy it!!

Cold...
Yeah, you guessed wrong. You thought perhaps by "Cold" that I meant the temperature. Nope. Poor little Aubry has a cold. She tipped me off by sneezing snot all over me. It sucks that the doctors can't really do anything about the common cold, but at least it isn't any more serious.
On another note, we tried rice cereal yesterday and she isn't quite ready for it. Still has that tongue reflex thing. Oh well. We will try when we are in Elko next week.
I am so excited for our trip!! We are going to Boise next week (hopefully Chris work approved time off) and we are stopping in Elko for the night up and back. We get to see my Aunt and cousin who live there and have never met Aubry. Super excited. Then we are going to Boise and spending time with Rachel and fam and trying to find an apartment up there for our move. Everyone please keep us in your prayers that Chris will be able to transfer. It would help so much.
Despite the rice cereal set back, we are moving forward in the nap department. She is taking longer and better naps each day and it makes my life a little easier. She is just doing so good!!
I got some boxes from my old job at Deseret Book and I am hoping to get some more from some friends in town. But if anybody hears about boxes somewhere, please let me know and I will take them off of your hands!!

The Elusive Laugh...
So Aubry can giggle. She really can. But she won't on camera. So my goal this coming week is to get some cute video of her laughing and doing silly things. Wish me luck.
4 Months
Wow. Four months ago I had my first child. I can't even begin to write about the different emotions that I have experienced since that time. A big one being surprise. Yup, I am continually surprised at how much I love and have fun with Aubry. She is everything I hoped for, but didn't dare think I would get. As many of you have read, Aubry is quite a bit on the small side. Always, below the 5%tile of children her age. No big deal. Well, we went to the doctor yesterday and while her head size is still that small, she is now 11 pounds 5 ounces, and 23 1/4 inches long. That means that in weight she is now in the 5-10%tile and height in the 10-25 %tile. I am so proud of her!! Granted she could still be eaten by most babies her age and by a couple who aren't, but she is growing at a good rate and my hopes of her being taller than me might come to pass. I mean, Chris is a whole foot taller than me so she should be in the middle right??

So anyways, Aubry is doing super well and so now I can brag about all the cool stuff she can do.
She can roll over.
She can giggle.
She can stand up if we steady her.
She can reach for things.
She touches her toes and blows raspberries (at the same time).
She follows our voices.
She brings her hands together.
And she can push up on all fours. (discovered at my parent's house this weekend.)
I can't believe how cool she is. She keeps me guessing all the time and has decided that Chris has to sit by her all the time when we are driving. She loves making faces with him and watching him play the computer. It's hilarious to see them both mesmerized by the computer screen.
Anyways, I also want to let people know how awesomely cool my husband is. He is so amazing with kids and I am so lucky. For example, this weekend me and Lara went to my parents house in Moapa, and Chris spent so much time playing with Dallin. Just sitting on the floor and playing with toys. I was amazed. Dallin was in heaven and I marveled at how good he is with children. And I realized that I hit the freakin' jackpot in husbands, cause how many out there get down and play with toys?? So, THANKS FATE!! For bringing me the best there is!!
I will post some pictures of Aubry when Chris gets home, cause he has the camera in his backpack...=)
P.S. Here are the pictures I promised.
Aubry standing up with Chris holding her.
Aubry holding her toes.
Aubry with Grandpa Cox in Moapa.
Chris and Aubry chillin' at our house.
Aubry sat there for about a minute like that.

Crafts
So lately I have been going over to my sisters house to work on some crafts. I finally finished one and I wanted to show off a picture of it. My hard work finally paid off. I got the tutorial from www.makeitandloveit.blogspot.com. I love that blog. It has so many awesome crafts.
Anyway, all I have been up to lately besides that is hanging out with Aubry and watching Inuyasha. Literally, the entire series. I only have the first five seasons, but Hulu.com has most of them online as well. I recommend this series to everyone. Even if you aren't an anime fan. It's freakin hilarious. And good.
Peace be with everyone today=)

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid...
Yeah, thats right. Me is Stupid. I didn't read the fine print in the apartment lease and now we can't leave town til November 5th. All my plans, BAM, gone in an instant. And the really annoying part is I have only myself to blame. Deep Breath. But, despite this setback, we will prevail and with our heads held high, we will walk to to Boise one day. (well not walk per say, we'll drive there). I just wanted to let everyone know. I am never going to give up on moving out of Las Vegas. I feel bad cause, I know my family that is nearby will miss us, but I WILL NOT raise my daughter here in the crappy public schools, or around strip clubs and gambling. I was raised near it, and I turned out fine, but isn't it the nature of the parent to want better for their children than what they had? I don't apologize to the people who love it here. It is my opinion and I am entitled to it. But I think there are better places to be and while I am able to relocate, I will make every effort to. That being said, I will miss my family and the familiar faces and places. However, what is life, if not one big adventure? How can we know if this is the best place for us, if we don't try out other places? Also, I will not endure another Las Vegas summer if I can help it. It was so horrible. It IS so horrible.
Okay enough complaining. I don't like Las Vegas, but I loved Moapa Valley and always will. Probably the happiest place in my childhood. That being said, I am not a child anymore and I have to spread my wings. Who knows? Perhaps after Chris finishes school up there, we will find ourselves back down here. But I will not feel guilty for moving. Not for family or friends.
I love you all and I will keep you posted on the whole relocation effort.

I just realized...
So I just realized that I have made this entire blog about Aubry and not so much about our family. So in order to rectify this oversight, I should tell you what is going on with all three of us. Chris, is working on getting transferred from work and getting his school credits transferred. He keeps me smiling and loves to play with Aubry. His specialty is making faces at her so she giggles. I am trying to keep the house clean and working on some sewing crafts with Lara. I took my sewing machine over to her house and we are both making things for the babies. Aubry is content to sleep in the swing while I type this. She didn't sleep very well last night and therefore I didn't. OH well. We are super excited to move in October and eventually buy a house, but I will miss my family.
I will miss them, but I do like to travel and I am hoping that they will feel free to come visit. Idaho has awesome camping sites and I am looking forward to tons of camping!!! I will post some pictures of us, cause I just realized that we have no family pictures of ourselves so that is also my goal for the week=)

3 Month Pictures
Aubry was watching Dallin and wouldn't look at us.
She wasn't into smiling, but glaring.

A rare smile.

So I went to Lara's house yesterday so we could finally take Aubry's 3 month pictures. It went pretty well. She smiled sometimes and did some cute faces. I also took my sewing machine over there and we are going to do some projects in the coming weeks. I am pretty excited about these cute pictures and I am going to print some out and send them to the grandparents=) So we have picked out weekend moving date. The second weekend in October and we will move to Boise. I am so excited and nervous about moving. It's been two years since we last moved and I am hoping that this move will be one of the last ones. I want to settle down as a family and focus on them for the next couple of decades. I really want to thank Lara for taking the time and getting such cute pictures.
PS. Krysta you had better post some pictures of your vacation!!

Baby Aubry
So Aubry is officially 3 months old as of last Friday. I was hoping to get to Lara's house to do pictures but Chris needed the car so we are heading over there tomorrow for some pictures and crafting. I am also hoping that Lara can take a nap while I watch the kids cause I know how much I needed one when Aubry was still small. In fact, I still need one, but decided to take this rather rare opportunity to blog. Me and Chris were watching a movie and I was also listening to my Zune and Aubry fell asleep in my arms without screaming about it. A welcome relief, as the I am becoming hard of hearing on my right side. So I downloaded the pictures me and Chris took of her on Friday and I am going to recount some of the things that me and Aubry do all day.
Aubry usually wakes up at about 2am every morning to be fed and then we go back to sleep usually to about 630am. Then another eat and up again at 8 or 9 then another sleep to 10ish. Then we get up and have breakfast for mama, and I check our farm on facebook cause she really likes watching the computer screen. Then I try and get some house work done, which never happens, (we live in perpetual filth, but at least there is food). Then Chris is home at 1245 and we greet him and then Aubry takes another nap hopefully. But then the feedings and naps go off schedule but in a perfect world, Aubry takes her nap with Chris. Then if we don't get Aubry a nap at 5 or 6 she can't fall asleep and will cry for hours cause she is so tired. But now that we know to look for tired signs after an hour of wakefulness, we are getting better about getting her to sleep earlier and we are enjoying a happier kid.
I wanted to let Lara know, that she should never feel guilty for having a hard time, cause no one else has is harder than yourself. We are each given exactly what we need and it's always hard. I always thought Lara had it easy, but she doesn't. And the same thing for everyone else. I know I have it as hard as it can be, cause if it was any harder, I wouldn't be here. So cheer up Lara and never feel like you don't have something to complain about, cause believe me, if I can complain with only one kid, you have every right to scream about two and so on when you have more.

Everyone Be Quiet
Okay, for the first time ever, Aubry has fallen asleep in her own bed and is still sleeping. Nobody say or make a noise. I am hoping this nap will last an hour or more. Cross your fingers and wish me luck.

Rolling Over...
The whole picture.
She makes the funniest faces.
Finally looking at the camera.
Hilarious. I about died laughing.
Once again proving that kids are a riot.

Twelve Weeks
Aubry is twelve weeks old today. What a ride. In fact, I can't believe that she is almost 3 months old. I hope that soon she will sleep through the night and at least start being able to take naps by herself. Some of the milestones that she has hit have been to smile at everyone, she can lift her head and shoulders up off the ground in "tummy time" and she has awesome neck control. My mom got her a swing and it has been really helpful. When she is not crying I just put her in that and get stuff done. She is in it right now!! I had a couple of rough days when we were trying to sleep train her better, but then I decided that I would ease into it. She is still small and we have plenty of time.
Last week we went camping with the Godfrey Clan and had an amazing time. Aubry did so well and loved being outside. I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted because I was holding her alot and then sleeping alot, but I did catch some of the family trying to dam the river so they could swim. Too bad the water was freezing. We also picked fresh raspberries and put them in our pancakes. It was so yummy!! I had tons of fun, but now we are getting our house put back together after tearing it apart packing. And a big announcement, we are definitely moving to Boise by October 13th. Sad, but true. We will miss Southern Nevada but not the heat.

The dam that they worked on.
Aubry's long sleeve onesies that I bought for the trip.
Chris made Aubry hug Chaos.
Leah and Aubry at the campout.
Mark, Chris, Craig, Laura, Jared working on the dam.
I will keep everyone posted on our moving situation and how Aubry is on learning to fall asleep by herself. So far so good. My first goal is to put her down next to me and have her fall asleep that way, instead of on my shoulders. Wish me luck!!

Aubry's First Road Trip
As the title suggests, this past week we took Aubry on her first road trip. We went up north to Boise, ID for Rachel's wedding. You would think we would have lots of cute photos to post, but unfortunately the camera was in Chris's bag the entire time and we don't have one cute photo of the entire trip!! Dangit!! But it was still an adventure that needs to be documented. First off, we left Thursday and drove to Provo and spent the night with Krysta and Zac. The ride up there was pretty long cause we stopped over in Hurricane to visit Kelly and Chayse for the first time!! Kelly actually got a picture of us all so hopefully she will post that. After staying there a couple of hours we drove the rest of the way and were pretty tired. Then the next morning we drove to Idaho Falls and hung out with Chris's family. We had fun and it was really awesome to see everyone there and Aubry got to meet the whole rest of the family. Then we drove to Boise the next day and went to the wedding. Aubry met more relatives and had some fun. Then the next day we drove all the way back down to Las Vegas. Probably the longest drive every with a new baby.
It was a fun but exhausting drive and we all learned some valuable lessons about driving with an infant. Such as, you can never change a diaper too many times in an hour. If they have to go more than that, they don't wait for the rest stop. Or sometimes she just doesn't want to sleep no matter what. It was fun, but I am super glad that we are flying up to Billings on Sunday for the family reunion and not driving.
I got some really cute onesies for the trip. Long sleeve so she won't be cold. I am actually starting to pack already because I don't want to forget anything and because I am super excited!! So starting Sunday, there won't be any posts from me, but probably on Monday or Tuesday I will post some pictures and show you how much fun we had!!
PS. I keep changing my blog background cause it's lots of fun and I have a million different ideas to choose from!

The Bear Suit
So I am posting the cutest thing I have ever seen. We are going camping the first week in August with the Godfrey clan. The camp site is in Montana so we were worried about Aubry being cold at night. The other day we went out shopping for a jacket and some pajamas for her. Babies R' Us had a sale going on so we looked at the fleece pajamas. They have a brown one and it had a hood. I thought this would be good cause it wouldn't show dirt as much. It is a little bear suit and Aubry is the cutest dang thing in it. So enjoy Aubry's new little bear suit=)

Sleep Deprived
Ren and Krysta were visiting this week.
She was so much fun and Aubry loved her.
Classic Aubry look. Wide-eyed and smirking.
I leaned her up in my chair and this is how she settled.
Chris was trying to get her to sleep. Him first.
Aubry is still not sleeping the best. She likes to sleep on me, but I have stuff to do and can't hold her all the time. When I set her down she usually wakes up and then fusses. And it seems that when she falls asleep laying down she doesn't sleep as long. Grrrgh. Hopefully, we can make sleeping on her own a routine shortly. I don't want to be a glorified mattress for the next year.
Well, I have a bet going with my brother in law Neil. They weight their new baby on Friday at 8 pounds 1 Ounce and if she is bigger than Aubry, who gets weighed tomorrow, then Neil owes me Coldstone. But if Aubry is bigger, then I owe him Coldstone. Wish me and Aubry luck!!!

The New Daddy
I have to tell you this story. It was so cute and sweet, it made me fall in love with my husband all over again. Sometimes Aubry cries and we don't know why. All part of raising kids, I suppose. Well at times, both me and Chris can become rather frustrated. Wishing to rid ourselves of an uphappy child (returning her to the hospital is not an option apparently=). But in those not so rare instances now, where she is smiley and happy, we find ourselves loving her and remarking about how freakin' cute she really is.
The other day I had Aubry asleep on the couch, laying there all cute like. Chris comes in and observes her for a moment, always checking to make sure she is breathing (it's cute that he worries=). When he looked at me and said, "Sometimes I get so frustrated with her, but then when I see her just sleeping there looking cute, I can't be mad at her at all." It was so cute the way he said it. I, of course, knew that as she gets older he will most likely always be a push over, cause she is in fact a, daddy's girl=) I love them both and hope that they will always be close.

New Items
There hasn't really been that much going on lately. We blessed Aubry on Sunday and that was really nice. She looked really cute in her blessing dress that Carol made her and she didn't even cry alot when it was happening. Lately we have been trying to get her to sleep in her crib and me sleep in my bed. It has been kinda hard cause she doesn't seem to sleep that well. Suggestions on how to get her to sleep soundly would be appreciated. I went to the doctor on Monday because my wrist has been bothering me since I was pregnant and it turns out I have tendinitis. I have to have physical therapy because I am breastfeeding. Not really that fun. Next week I am going to moapa and meeting Kelly hopefully so we can finally have our daughters meet. Chayse is almost two months older than Aubry which seems like alot now, but really isn't that far apart. Kelly and I are almost a year apart.
My favorite grocery store is closing. The Vons next to our apartment complex was sold or is going out of business or something. I am so mad!! It was so nice having it there and now we have to go to Walmart or Smith's. There really isn't another close grocery store that I like. I actually hate all the other ones. Even in Spokane, I would go to Safeway, which is the same thing, more than any other store.
Well, Aubry has been asleep for almost a half hour so I am going to take a nap finally and hope that she sleeps for a couple more hours.

New Photos
Here are some new photos of Aubry. We are having so much fun with Grandma Godfrey down visiting and helping out. In fact, she is motivating Chris to clean his computer area. I think he listens to his mom more than me=) Grandpa Godfrey (Paul) is flying in tomorrow night and then we are blessing Aubry on Sunday the 5th. She has the cutest blessing dress that Carol made for her. I will post some pictures of her in that on Monday next week.

One Month
So Aubry is officially one month old two days ago. We went to the doctor on Monday and she weighed in at 6 pounds and 5 ounces. That is up from two weeks ago at 5 pounds. She is eating really well and I am super excited that she is putting on weight. She is still in the lower 5 percentile for everything, but that is fine as long as she has a normal growth rate. She is already more aware and is starting to focus and just look around without fussing. Grandma Godfrey bought us a sling and I am super excited to try it out. We also finally found a stroller that is cheap and versatile for us. Unfortunately, it only comes in one color. Brown and Pink. Which is fine I guess, but it clashes with our car seat which is blue and silver. Oh well. We will be picking it up next week.
My incision site is healing pretty well. I can lay down and get up now, but it still hurts. And I can't wait til I get the go ahead to swim and exercise. I want to lose all sorts of weight and fit into my pants again. I lost a ton of weight, but the stretching was in all the wrong places and my pants are fitting right. I go in for my appointment in about a week and a half. I can't wait to go swimming!!
We are going to the family reunion in August hopefully, and I can't wait. We are thinking about just flying up to Billings and driving down with the in laws. Apparently Allegieant Air now has a non stop flight to Billings for about 60 bucks a person. Totally awesome. That means it is cheaper to fly now instead of driving. I wish they had that flight last year when we visited. Stupid people. Well, we are just relaxing here, taking our time to do stuff. I like being a stay at home mom. I might make it permanent=)
